YORK UNIVERSITY (CANADA) INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

DEADLINE: 1 FEBRUARY, 2022


York University is a public research university in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is Canada's fourth-largest university, and it has approximately 55,700 students, 10,000 international students, 7,000 faculty and staff, and over 325,000 alumni worldwide. It has eleven faculties, including the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, Faculty of Science, Lassonde School of Engineering, Schulich School of Business, Osgoode Hall Law School, Glendon College, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Health, Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change, Faculty of Graduate Studies, School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design, and 28 research centres.

To be considered for the scholarships and awards below, you must submit the International Student Scholarship & Award Application. These scholarships and awards are for applicants with an exceptional academic profile, and who demonstrate leadership through community service or excellence in the arts or sport. Students do not need an offer of admission to apply for York entrance awards and scholarships.


Full details will be available in the International Student Scholarship & Award Application form when it opens in December. A 9-digit York reference number is required, which you will receive within 5 business days of applying to York. You must submit your application to York by January 15, 2022 at the latest.


Application Requirements:

  • Must be an international student who is required to have a Study Permit to study in Canada

  • Must have applied to an undergraduate degree program at York that begins in Fall 2022

  • Must have applied to York directly from high school no more than two years after graduation, and have no previous university or college studies (not applicable to Tentanda Via Award)

  • Must have an excellent academic record with a minimum “A” average or equivalent (where applicable)

  • Must have demonstrated leadership through community service or excellence in the arts, sports, or other areas of individual achievement (where applicable)

  • Must upload two letters of recommendation or other supporting documents as applicable

  • Must ensure all required documents are shown as “Received” in the York application (MyFile), by February 1, 2022 at 11:59:59pm, Eastern Time

  • Must complete and submit the online International Student Scholarship Application by February 1, 2022 at 11:59:59pm, Eastern Time


SCHOLARSHIPS

By submitting the International Student Scholarship & Award Application, you will be considered for the scholarships listed below except for the Tentanda Via Award (you must specifically select the Tentanda Via Award on the application form to be considered):



President’s International Scholarship of Excellence Twenty (20) of these scholarships are awarded per year, valued at $45,000/year. It is renewable for an additional three years of full-time undergraduate study if the student maintains good academic standing each year, bringing it to a total of $180,000 over four years.$180,000 ($45,000 x 4 years)Tentanda Via Award Fifteen (15) of these awards are awarded per year, valued at $30,000/year. It is renewable for an additional three years of full-time undergraduate study if the student maintains good academic standing each year, bringing it to a total of $120,000 over four years.$120,000 ($30,000 x 4 years)Global Leader of Tomorrow Award for International Students Two (2) of these scholarships are awarded per year, valued at $20,000/year. It is renewable for an additional three years of full-time undergraduate study if the student maintains high academic standing each year, bringing it to a total of $80,000 over four years.$80,000 ($20,000 x 4 years)International Circle of Scholar’s Scholarship One (1) of these scholarships is awarded per year, valued at $15,000. It is for $15,000 towards a student’s first year of study.$15,000York University Academic Excellence Scholarships for International Students Five (5) to 10 of these scholarships are awarded per year, valued at $5,000 to $10,000. It is for $5,000 to $10,000 towards a student’s first year of study.$5,000-10,000



APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

Applicants from Eswatini should have a combination of GCE Ordinary results plus GCE A Level results or First year at the University of Swaziland.


The following requirements apply to all applicants applying to undergraduate degree or certificate studies at York University.

  1. Official Transcripts (all students are required to submit official transcripts except those qualifying as Mature applicants or as Visiting Students on a Letter of Permission)

  2. Course Descriptions (for any postsecondary work taken outside of North America)
