Apart from providing education opportunities at an international caliber as well as a wealth of knowledge and experience, Türkiye offers scholarships to international students from all over the world to study in the most prestigious universities in Türkiye. Türkiye Scholarships is a government-funded, competitive scholarship program, awarded to outstanding students and researchers to pursue full-time or short-term programs at the top universities in Türkiye.


Türkiye Scholarships aims to build a network of future leaders committed to strengthening cooperation among countries and mutual understanding among societies.

 

What is unique about Türkiye Scholarships? 

What makes Türkiye Scholarships unique is that it’s not only inclusive of financial support, tuition fee, accommodation and health insurance but also provides university placement and academic, social and cultural facilities to its awardees at all levels of higher education.

 

Programs and Levels of Study

Applications will be open to applicants who wish to study at associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels.


SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS

  • Provides university and department placements unlike other higher education scholarship programs.

  • Covers tuition fees.

  • Allows you to learn the language of the country with a 1-year Turkish language course. Thus, resources are diversified in your academic research and daily life becomes more pleasurable.

  • Provides accommodation for students arriving in a new country.

  • Supports you on your journey to Turkey and when you return to your country at the end of your education period and covers your once-off flight ticket.

  • Allows you to take full advantage of widespread health services when necessary with health insurance.

  • Also provides monthly stipend. 4.500 TL at Associate’s and Bachelor’s levels, 6.500 TL at Master's level and 9.000 TL at PhD level per month.


ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Associate Degree Scholarship Programs (Technical and Vocational Education and Training)

Two-year associate degree programs offer students the opportunity to shape their careers by adding professional knowledge and skills. Applications are received via the Türkiye Scholarships Application System (TBBS) between 10 January and 20 February, which is the application period every year.


Bachelor’s Scholarship Program

Applications for the scholarship program, which provides education in numerous departments in the fields of engineering, social sciences, health sciences, basic sciences, are received between 10 January and 20 February, which is the application period every year through the Türkiye Scholarships Application System (TBBS).


Graduate Scholarship Program

Various programs are offered at the master’s and PhD levels in the fields of social sciences, humanities, natural sciences and engineering at prestigious universities in Türkiye. Graduate Scholarship Programme applications are received via the Türkiye Scholarships Application System (TBBS) between 10 January and 20 February, which is the application period every year. Türkiye Scholarships does not award scholarships in the field of health sciences. The universities and departments that candidates can choose may vary depending on the educational background of the candidates. Candidates can only choose from the universities and departments offered to them in the system. 

Art Scholarship Program

The Arts Scholarship Programme provides scholarships to international students at the undergraduate, graduate and PhD levels in the fields of performing arts, music and fine arts at Ankara Music and Fine Arts University, Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University and İstanbul Technical University. Art Scholarship Programme applications are received via the Türkiye Scholarships Application System (TBBS) between 10 January and 20 February, which is the application period every year.


The departments that can be applied for within the scope of the Art Scholarship Program are as follows:

Music and Performing Arts
  • Instrument Education ( Bachelor's Degree)

  • Voice Training ( Bachelor's Degree)

  • Music Technology ( Bachelor's Degree)

  • Music Theory ( Bachelor's Degree)

  • Musicology ( Bachelor's Degree)

  • Instrument Education (Master's Degree)

  • Music Technologies (Master's Degree)


  • Music Theory (Master's Degree)

  • Musicology (Master's Degree)

  • Voice Education (Master's Degree)

  • Instrument-Sound (Master's Degree)

  • Music Theory and Composition (Master's Degree)

  • Music Sciences ( PhD)


Fine Arts
  • Photography and Video ( Bachelor's Degree)

  • Painting ( Bachelor's Degree)

  • Visual Communication Design ( Bachelor's Degree)



ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Academic Achievement

  • For associate and bachelor's degree candidates %70

  • For graduate candidates: 75%

  • For candidates of Health Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy): 90%

Age Criteria

  • For associate and bachelor's degree programmes: Under 21 years of age.

  • For master’s programs: being under the age of 30

  • For PhD programs: being under the age of 35

  • For Research Scholarship: being under the age of 50



HOW TO APPLY

There is no application fee.


  1. Create your application account on the application platform: 

  2. Upload all the required documents

  3. List your preferred university and program of study

  4. Write your application personal statement

  5. Submit


For applications made online through the Türkiye Scholarships Application System (TBBS), all candidates must upload the following documents to the system:


  • A valid identity document, ID card or passport

  • A photograph of the candidate taken within the last 1 year

  • National exam results (if any)

  • Diploma or temporary graduation certificate

  • Transcript

  • International exam results (GRE, GMAT, SAT, etc.) if required by the chosen university or program

  • International language test results such as TOEFL, DELF if required by the chosen university or program

  • A proposal for a research topic and a written example of the research you have carried out (only for PhD applications)


All Türkiye Scholarships awardees who do not possess C1 Level Certificate for Turkish Proficiency (including those who are placed into English or other language medium programs) must attend 1-year Turkish Language Course and attain the C1 Level Certificate by the end of their academic year.
