GOVERNMENT OF ESWATINI LOCAL & SADC SCHOLARSHIP (PTET LOAN) NOW OPEN

DEADLINE: 30 JUNE 2025

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security announces that scholarship applications are now open for students who want to study in universities and colleges in the Kingdom of Eswatini and the COMESA region, specifically Botswana, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Tanzania & Kenya (excluding South Africa and Namibia).

Instructions

• All students are expected to apply online using the website https://www.slas.gov.sz  

• Students applying are those who hold acceptance letters from the various universities, colleges or institutions that are sponsored by the Government of Eswatini through the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. 

• Students should also be in possession of their high school leaving certificates and attach them on their application. 

• Applicants are therefore encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Government Priority List of programs of study available on the Ministry's facebook page and website and are expected to read carefully and follow instructions as per the online application process, before attempting to apply.

CUT OFF POINTS (APS)

The cut off points of APS are set at the below thresholds. APS computed at best 5 passed subjects:

• Undergraduate degree- Local- 30 APS- (5 credits)

• Diploma – 27 APS- (5 credits) with the exception of Gwamile VOCTIM.

• Undergraduate degree- External- 33 APS- (5 credits)

The following are tertiary institutions in the country funded by the Government of Eswatini through the Pre- Service Tertiary Education and Training Loans programme. Please note that NOT ALL COURSES IN THESE INSTITUTIONS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A SCHOLARSHIP, please make sure that you check the priority list for which courses in these eligible institutions are accepted for the scholarship:

• FIELD OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES: Permaculture, Sericulture, Forest, wood science and natural resource management, Wildlife Production and Management, Genetic Engineers/ Marine biologist, Veterinary Science
