ESCCOM UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP FOR GIRLS IN ICT

DEADLINE: 31 MAY 2025


The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) initiated the Girls in ICT program which aims to encourage girls to take up careers in ICT and related fields. Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) representing Eswatini has aligned itself with the initiative and have announced the Eswatini Girls in ICT Scholarship 2024, to be awarded to one (1) girl child.


SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

The sponsorship covers the following: 

  • Full Tuition Fees

  • Transport Fees-to provide twice per annum (beginning and end of the academic year)

  • Study Permit Fees Where Applicable

  • Medical Aid Cover, where relevant

  • Prescribed textbooks. 

  • Monthly Stipend To Cover Accommodation And Other incidental expenses.


Additional benefits:

  • Mentorship: Access to experienced professionals within the Commission, providing ongoing guidance, coaching and support.

  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with industry leaders and fellow aspiring female ICT professionals.

  • Internship Opportunities: Gain valuable practical experience within the Commission.




ELIGIBILITY

The criteria for selecting potential candidates shall be based on individual merit. Students Who Apply For The Sponsorship Should Meet The Following Requirements: 


  • Citizen of Eswatini 

  • Have credited Sciences, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) related Subjects. 

  • Acceptance letter for an ICT related undergraduate degree from an accredited local or South African Higher Education Institution

  • Aged seventeen (17) years, or above, up to the age of twenty four (24) years


HOW TO APPLY

The qualifying young girls are to submit the following application documents: 

  • A motivation letter – educational achievement and professional goals 

  • Statement of results for EGCSE or equivalent 

  • Acceptance letter from university where the applicant is enrolled with the name of the course.


Applications to be submitted to scholarship@esccom.org.sz  before close of business on 31 May 2025.
