Asheshi University


For over more than a decade, Ashesi has established a reputation as a leader in undergraduate education in Africa, with an educational experience that fosters ethical leadership, an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to solve complex problems. These qualities are what set Ashesi students and alumni apart. At the heart of the Ashesi experience is the liberal arts and sciences curriculum, and the campus culture. There are currently 1007 Ashesi students from over 20 African countries who learn, live and innovate together. 17% are international students, 47% are women and 45% are on scholarship.  With over 1200 alumni, there are currently two students from Eswatini studying in Ashesi on scholarship. These are the available academic programs:

● BSc Management Information Systems

● BSc Computer Science

● BSc Electrical and Electronic Engineering

● BSc Computer Engineering

● BSc Mechanical Engineering


In addition, students can choose to study abroad in any of our partner universities, selecting courses that they can transfer to graduation at Ashesi. Students can also choose to defer a semester studying abroad, with guidance from their academic counsellors. These are some universities where Ashesi students can study abroad for one semester:

Admission Requirements

Six IGCSE (G.C.E. O-Level) passes including Mathematics, English, and Science are required together with at least three ‘A’ Level passes (with grade A-D).


Requirements For Engineering Students

● A-Level: Three A-Level passes (A-D) including Mathematics and Physics, and six IGCSE (G.C.E. O-Level) passes including Mathematics, English, and Science are required for admission to Ashesi.  A grade of D or better in Further Mathematics instead of Mathematics is also acceptable for entry as a prospective engineering major.


Scholarship

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is an initiative to educate and prepare young people – especially from Africa – to lead change and make a positive social impact in their communities. The Scholars Program at Ashesi will provide young Africans from economically disadvantaged communities who have demonstrated academic talent and leadership potential with access to quality and relevant education.
