ALCHE UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS AND SCHOLARSHIPS

DEADLINE:


African Leadership College of Higher Education (ALCHE) provides higher education in Mauritius. The available programs are:


  1. BSc (Hons) Computer Science

  2. BSc. (Hons) Entrepreneurial Leadership

  3. BA (Hons) International Business and Trade (IBT)

  4. BSc. (Hons) Software Engineering



ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for admission to the ALCHE program, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:


Option 1:

  • Pass in three subjects at A-level and

  • Pass in one subject at Advanced Subsidiary/Subsidiary level at Higher School Certificate Examination or equivalent.


Option 2:

  • Pass in two subjects at A-level and

  • Pass in two subjects at Advanced Subsidiary/Subsidiary level at Higher School Certificate Examination or equivalent.


Option 3:

  • Pass in three subjects at A-level at the London General Certificate Examination (GCE) or equivalent.


Program Specific Requirements for Bachelor of International Business and Trade, and Bachelor of Entrepreneurial Leadership.


  1. Meeting the general entry requirements for admission to the institution for Undergraduate programmes

  2. Passing 3 or more A-level subjects or equivalent, in which one or more of the considered subjects is from this list of core subjects, or combinations that include these subjects.:

    1. English or Literature in English

    2. Maths (Any A-level math)

    3. Entrepreneurship

    4. Integrated Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Sociology, Economics, or Geography.

  3. Attaining a C average or better on the 3 subjects selected.


Program Specific Requirements for Bachelor of Computer Science, and Bachelor of Software Engineering.

  1. Meeting the general entry requirements for admission to the institution for Undergraduate programmes

  2. Passing 3 or more A-level subjects or equivalent, in which one or more of the considered subjects is from this list of core subjects, or combinations that include these subjects.:

    1. Maths (Any A-level Math) or related subjects

      • Computing subjects, such as Computing, Computer Science, and Computer Engineering

      • Physical Science subjects, such as Integrated Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Physics

  3. Attaining a C average or better on the 3 subjects selected.



Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at ALCHE

 

ALCHE in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation offers the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, which provides fully-funded scholarships to exceptionally deserving and talented students from across the continent. These scholarships are full-ride scholarships awarded to students who demonstrate financial need, academic excellence and great leadership potential in using the scholarship opportunity as a valuable tool in making a meaningful impact in their community.

Scholarships offered at ALCHE are full-ride scholarships covering full tuition and additional financial support throughout the scholars’ journey at ALCHE. 

 

Please note that very limited scholarships are available per admission intake.


Eligibility Requirements for the Mastercard Foundation scholarships
  1. Applicants must be otherwise unable to afford ALCHE tuition with any other form of aid. Individuals must demonstrate financial need and substantial socio-economic disadvantage, which acceptable official supporting documents can clearly verify. 

  2. Individuals meeting the following descriptions are especially encouraged to apply;

    1. Female applicants

    2. Individuals with physical or learning disabilities (see the various definitions of disabilities here and here)

    3. Aged 25 and below

  3. Be academically strong with clear potential to thrive at ALCHE

    1. Meet ALCHE admission criteria

    2. Strong National Exam Scores of at least a B

  4. Applicants must demonstrate the following qualities;

    1. Evidence of strong leadership potential 

    2. Evidence of active contribution in their communities and commitment to leverage this opportunity to give back to their communities

  5. Must be eligible to study in Mauritius
